Touches Of Holiday

Fa la la challah la la la la...

This month, whether you're trimming a tree or eating latkes, or eating latkes while trimming a tree, I hope you do it joyfully, peacefully, and inspired.

In my family, it's all about finding ways to celebrate that are our own. Including, creating a festive atmosphere that makes us all happy... and that I think is pretty!

I truly feel it's the little notes that have the most charm and lasting effect. The familiar foods we cook each year... the anticipated yearly traditions (some old, some new)... and subtle hints of holiday scattered throughout the home.

My favorites ~ beautiful ornaments hung from a chandelier... unexpected structures strewn with festivity (a great way to decorate if you don't do trees)... specks of greenery or sparkle on the mantle... something warm in the fireplace... and (prepare, as this is one of the few times i will say 'more is more') -- endlessssss displays of little white lights.
